I run a small company that deals mainly in consumer goods. We have to print out a large number of receipts, forms and other documentations, not just for our customers but also for our records and for the IRS. I needed a speedy printer that had the capability of both wired and wireless connections and great black and white printing within seconds, and the Brother HL-2170w is the printer that I was looking for.

The Brother HL-2170w laser jet printer has an output of up to 23 pages per minute and that’s a respectable speed, given our busy schedule it looked ideal. It is not just the speed that sets it apart but also the printing results. The print driver offers 2400 x 600 dpi resolution and a crystal clear reproduction either text or image. It’s not difficult to print flyers or accounts alike, with great resolution and crisp results. We often make black and white posters for products, and the Brother HL-2170w is perfect for our small marketing campaigns and office.

The best aspect of the Brother HL-2170w is its wireless connectivity. Most of our office work is done on laptops and we have a totally wireless network. The printer fits well into our working environment without any extra bits. We used the installation kit and it took two minutes to enable the sending of print jobs from our notebooks.

My workers and I prefer an energy efficient and environmentally friendly working environment, and the Brother HL-2170w is perfect in this regard. The printer is Energy Star compliant and also has a toner save mode. While admittedly we are more interested in lowering costs than our emissions, it does help.

Even when printing text heavy documents I have been able to print 23 pages in a minute. Despite printing mainly text, I wasn’t above giving the printer a good run to see what it could do. I was thoroughly impressed with the results and there were no issues with print quality. Even images came out well, and we all know lasers sometimes have problems with those.

The Brother HL-2170w comes with a starter toner cartridge, one-year limited warranty, detailed instructions and a setup guide. I will recommend Brother HL-2170w to other businesses, especially those that cannot afford expensive color printers and don’t want to compromise on quality. The Brother HL-2170w is a great addition to the office, and well worth the cost.
